Frequently asked questions.

How do I know if I want balayage or what it is?

Balayage is a widely used term nowadays in the salon world that has caused a lot of confusion on what it actually means. True French balayage (a term meaning “to sweep”) is hand painted highlights using no foil and is meant to mimic how the sun would kiss your hair. It delivers very blended but often more subtle results. Many of the pictures on Pinterest, tik-tok and Instagram use a technique outside of actual balayage but label it as balayage so it can be super confusing to navigate. I offer free consultations to see if this technique will give you the results you are looking to achieve.

Can I have highlights but stay a brunette?

Keeping my brunette clients still feeling like themselves is a vital part of my taste in color. Most of my color sessions are geared towards enhancing your natural color vs completely changing it.

What if I have greys, can I cover it and add some dimension?

Yes, we can cover your grey completely or blend it a bit. Covering greys is always higher maintenance and requires sessions 4-8 weeks on average as well as using permanent color which has a harsher grow out. My favorite option is to blend the grey using demi permanent color to soften them. This is also a much lower maintenance option and only needs to be maintained every 10-12 weeks.
